E-learning & skills development

Annually organised Resilience Academy mass Industrial Placement program provides need-based internship opportunities for university-level students within the digital geospatial data and urban development industry. The Resilience Academy Industrial Placement guides students to understand how real-life urban challenges can be approached and finally solved via engaging them in practical data collection work in the field and theoretical learning about thematic issues and data quality and management in the classrooms.

The Resilience Academy Industrial Placement is aligned with the Tanzanian university parties’ curricula which requires an eight-week internship period in the industry relevant for the students’ study program. During the Resilience Academy Industrial Placement, hundreds of students are engaged in data collection, management and analysis campaigns with different themes, such as mapping the functioning of drainage systems for improved urban infrastructure development, or collecting data about urban greenery for evidence-based decision making when securing urban ecosystem services.

Industrial training exposes students to geospatial skills to map the unmapped and make community assets visible
